Announcing two amazing new hires for Williamsburg’s leadership team
At Williamsburg, we’re always looking for amazing and talented people to join our team and help us in our mission to prepare promising students for meaningful lives as principled leaders. In the past year, we’ve found and hired two such awesome individuals to join our team in newly-created leadership roles. Today we’re thrilled to officially welcome Anya and Rob to the Williamsburg community.
Anya Yeager, Director of School Partnerships
Anya joins Williamsburg with over 20 years of experience in K-12 education. Anya began her career as a teacher, and has since held multiple administrative roles including as Executive Director of George Washington Academy, a rigorous charter school in St. George, Utah (where Anya also served as Assistant Director and Director of Special Education), and with the Utah State Office of Child Care. Anya was first drawn to the world of charter schools when she could not find a public school option that was right for her own children, and has been focused on improving educational choice for families ever since.
Anya is very excited to be starting her new role with Williamsburg: “I feel as if everything I have ever studied or been interested in has led me to this position at Williamsburg Learning. I am a strong believer in school choice, high expectations for student learning, and the idea that parents should be able to be as involved as they can in their children’s education. I also love that I get to be a part of the amazing team of individuals that has been assembled at WL and all of their partner schools. I am already learning and being inspired daily!”
Anya holds undergraduate degrees in Child Development and Social & Behavioral Sciences, a masters degree in Psychology, and an Administrative Endorsement in K-12 School Leadership. She and her husband, Alex, have been married for 22 years and have three amazing children (two boys and a girl). When she’s not working to improve education, Anya’s personal passions include the ocean, travel, art, chocolate, and hot yoga.
Rob Myers, Director of Outdoor Adventures
Rob is joining Williamsburg Adventures after many years of serving as director of the outdoor program at Southern Utah University. Many of our students and parents may remember Rob from his years of involvement in our summer Elevation program. Rob is thrilled to be taking over as director of this flagship Williamsburg event, and has some exciting plans to add more outdoor adventures and trips to our current offerings.
Rob built a highly successful outdoor program at SUU, and is an accomplished adventurer. Rob has summited the Grand Teton and biked the White Rim trail in a single week—among many other awesome feats—and is the father of four “rad” daughters. Here are Rob’s words on the moment he realized how he wanted to spend his life:
“One day while on a training run I realized that I loved coaching the men’s high school cross country team more than I liked going to work. I decided to take some advice from a friend, “work to live, not live to work.” I changed the direction I was facing and took a step forward. I have found a rewarding career, a lifestyle filled with passion, meaningful relationships and true happiness in the field of adventure education. I am stoked to be a part of Williamsburg Adventures and it’s wonderful team! I truly look forward to helping create transformational learning experiences for our students.”
Anya and Rob have already had an enormous positive impact in their roles, and we can’t wait to see how they continue to find new ways to serve you and your family. Stay tuned for more updates on our amazing new hires this year.
