Java Programming With Minecraft

Why This Class

If your student plays video games, you’ve probably found yourself wishing that they find and enjoy games that are constructive and educational (while also fun). Minecraft is that kind of game—and this course takes it to a new level by showing your student how to change and customize it using Java, a popular programming language.

Students in this self-paced course discover how to create items, blocks, armor, tools, plants, and recipes in their Minecraft worlds through basic Java programming techniques and insider tips. Along the way, they experiment with guided programming exercises and apply concepts including Boolean logic and if-statements. By the end of the course, students develop a custom Minecraft world that’s uniquely theirs.

Students emerge from this course excited by the fact that a computer game is not fixed and unchangeable but something they can modify, improve and personalize according to their skills and desires. They see new potential in the world of computer programming.
