Student Experience & What to Expect

Connect your students with a global
community of like-minded, ambitious peers.

Not Your Average Online Program

The best online programs attract students who thrive in an independent setting—the type of learner who naturally excels in Williamsburg courses. Most of our students are highly motivated and college-bound. While our classes require more dedication than the average online course, we offer both Classic and Honors options in many subjects so students can choose the level of challenge that’s right for them. Our live, interactive classes connect students with peers and mentors from diverse cultures, backgrounds, and worldviews, giving them a global learning experience that sets them apart for the future.

The “Burger” Culture

A strong sense of community helps students stay engaged online. Williamsburg students—affectionately known as “Burgers”—enjoy a close-knit culture of belonging where they learn how to think, not what to think. They face unique challenges together through leadership courses, in-person Adventures courses available in select states, and weekly Inspiration Hour events with inspiring guest speakers. These experiences build confidence, resilience, and connection beyond the classroom.

Comprehensive Student Support

You want an online program that ensures every student has the tools and guidance to succeed—and so do we. Williamsburg mentors regularly review benchmark assessment scores to identify learning gaps and provide targeted support where students need it most. Through our Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS), we provide layered interventions for students who are struggling, so every student has a pathway forward. Students can also access tutoring labs for extra practice, while parents stay engaged through regular mentor conferences and ongoing updates. This collaborative approach empowers families and educators to work together, helping every student grow in confidence and achievement.

What about Special Ed? As a public education provider, you serve students with diverse abilities and needs, including those with special needs, physical disabilities, and Individualized Education Plans (IEPs). You need an online partner who understands your responsibilities under IDEA compliance and works effectively with these students. While your school remains responsible for Special Education Services, we collaborate with districts and charters to ensure annual goals are met, communication is consistent, and each child is supported to make meaningful progress.

What about college readiness? Our courses are rigorous and designed to meet or exceed the entrance requirements of most colleges and universities. In California, we offer a full suite of A-G Ready Courses, providing a strong academic foundation for admission. Beyond academics, our programs emphasize critical thinking, leadership, and global perspectives—skills that help students stand out in higher education and beyond.
