Advanced World Language (Independent Studies)

Why This Class

Once your student has completed all of the Williamsburg courses available in a chosen language, they have the option to continue their language learning through an Independent Studies course. This course is designed for students who want to go further—building fluency, deepening cultural understanding, or preparing for future travel, college, or career opportunities.

In this course, students select their own learning resources—such as working with a personal tutor, using a structured curriculum (free or purchased), or designing a study plan based on their individual research and goals. This flexible format allows them to tailor their studies to their interests and proficiency level.

While the Independent Studies mentor won’t provide direct language instruction or materials, they will offer ongoing support and guidance. Students will also complete regular assignments and presentations to show their progress and reflect on what they’re learning.
