Middle School Electives Program

Give your student a head start in a subject that excites them.

How we guide your student

Your student’s desires make them unique. The things they enjoy and find fulfillment in tell a story about who they are. Middle school is a phase for your student to explore these interests and find out where they might lead—and you want them to have the tools and support to do so. Ideally, you also want to give them a head start on a skill that could become a life-long passion. That’s why we offer Middle School Electives.

In photography courses, students learn about the evolution of photography and express creativity by taking photos of their own. Study skills courses unlock tools to which few other students are exposed (even in college) for learning in school and life. Typing courses cultivate the confidence and skills students need to type quickly and effectively. In all electives courses, mentors focus on giving students real-life experience in each discipline. Students with a high level of autonomy and who are ready to work independently can also enroll in Second Language courses as electives and earn high school credit.

By taking an elective, students gain insight into themselves and experience in something that matters to them. They lay the groundwork for success in high school and develop skills that will give them an edge in their future pursuits.

*This course is exclusively designed for and offered to Leadership Academy of Utah students as a required elective.
